The A&WMA Annual Conference and Exhibition provides a perfect opportunity for students and young professionals (YPs) to get the latest technical information available while making important industry contacts. Young Professional Welcome/YP Development Series – Part 1
This series will present useful information and teach practical skills for both personal and professional development. Topics include professional communication, first impressions, negotiation skills, conflict resolution, leadership styles, differences between managers and leaders, and work-life balance.

Young Professional Advisory Council Annual Meeting
The Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC) advises the A&WMA Board and other Councils regarding services and activities that will meet the needs of today’s young environmental professionals. All YPs are invited to join YPAC for their annual meeting to hear about the YPAC’s latest initiatives.
This year’s annual meeting will highlight all of the great volunteer opportunities available to young professionals within the Association.

Student Poster Competition
Visit the exhibit hall where the posters are displayed and watch as students present their posters to the judges during this year’s competition. The Student Poster Competition recognizes student posters to be the best amongst those considered in the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral categories. US$5,000 in prizes will be awarded to the winning teams.
