A&WMA takes pride in supporting the future environmental leaders of our world in research, teaching, engineering, and environmental practice. For more than a decade, the Association has awarded scholarships to the most promising environmental students.
 
Full-time graduate students who are pursuing courses of study and research leading to careers in air quality, waste, or sustainability/management pertaining to air quality or waste  are eligible to apply for the 2011 / 2012 A&WMA Scholarship Endowment Trust Fund.

Curriculum Vitae (6-pages maximum)

Provide a resume of the following:
educational training, including institutions attended, degrees earned, dates, and thesis/dissertation titles, part-time and full-time work experience including dates of employment, employer, and responsibilities, volunteer activities including: Community participation,  professional societies and association participation, professional registration/certification status publications and presentations, and awards, honors, and scholarship/fellowships received.

Plan of Study (2 page maximum)
Summarize your graduate study plans, highlighting the significance and relation between course work and research, and your personal objectives. 

Statement of Professional Goals (2 page maximum)
Summarize your short and long-term professional goals.  Discuss both preferred career after receiving graduate degree and its relation to short and long-term goals.

Transcripts
Send transcripts from baccalaureate and higher degree(s), if applicable. Transcripts issued to student are acceptable. However, transcripts must be issued from the Office of the Registrar. Include an official explanation of the equivalency to the widely used 4 point grade system (4 = A) for any grading systems not based on the 4 point grade system.

Letter of Acceptance from Graduate School and / or Faculty Advisor
Must verify that you are admitted on a full-time basis.

Two Letters of Recommendation
Letters should identify how the author knows the candidate, describe the qualities of the candidate and their research area related to air quality, waste, or sustainability/management pertaining to air quality or waste, and membership status/ID number in A&WMA
 
Deadline for submissions will be Monday, January 3, 2011.  Applicants will be advised of results in February 2011.
 
Scholarship award winners are announced at the Student Award Reception during the Annual Conference and Exhibition. Awards and plaques will be provided at the Student Award Ceremony. Scholarship award winners and their advisor(s) are encouraged to participate with the Student Award Ceremony.
