Family Friendly Program

A&WMA realizes that travel and time away from family—especially in the summertime—can be challenging. Our Family-Friendly Program allows you to participate more fully in the conference, without leaving your family behind.
The Family-Friendly Registration Program allows your children to participate in the conference with you, offering them a peek at your professional life. The program includes admission to technical sessions, the Exhibit Hall (Thursday only), and networking events (additional fees may apply). The family friendly registration form will be available soon.

Most Calgary schools are in session until June 30, so unfortunately, day camps don’t open until July. Below are a few services that may help you to plan your family’s time in Calgary:

Child and Youth Friendly Calgary (E-mail: friendly@cyfc.ca; Phone: 403-266-5448) lists Calgary and local area businesses that cater to the needs of local and visiting families. All businesses listed on this site have been evaluated by young volunteers and are deemed to be “child friendly”.

Nannies On Call (Phone: 403-351-0180; Toll Free: 1-877-214-2828) provides a pre-screened nanny to care for your children.

One Tiny Suitcase Baby Equipment Rentals (E-mail: info@onetinysuitcase.ca; Phone: 403-208-1167; Toll Free: 877-663-8469) rents baby equipment including child car seats, cribs, and strollers.

For attendees staying at the Hyatt Regency Calgary, Hyatt has a partnership with Babies Travel Lite, a service where you can purchase baby supplies.

There are many kid-friendly activities in the Calgary area for your family to visit during your stay including the Calgary Tower, Glenbow Museum, Calgary Zoo, and Telus World of Science.
