Social Program Tours

Calgary is an exciting city with plenty to explore, so during conference week be sure to take advantage of your free time and check out your surroundings. Attend a social program or two and see some of the best sites that Calgary has to offer. All social program tours depart from the Hyatt, Stephen (8th) Avenue Entrance.


Calgary City Tour

Tuesday, June 22 • 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $40 USD, $45 CND
Minimum: 20 people

Located in the foothills of Canada’s Rocky Mountains, Calgary, the “Heart of the New West,” is a vibrant cosmopolitan city with breathtaking outdoor adventure and pristine wilderness in its own backyard.

This informative City Tour will show you the highlights of the city - starting from the Convention Centre, driving through the streets of Calgary, City Hall, Olympic Plaza, Fort Calgary Historic Park - where Calgary was born, Chinatown, Eau Claire Market Mall, Stephen Avenue, Devonian Gardens, Stampede Park, Scotsman Hill, Canada Olympic Park, Heritage Park, and the Calgary Zoo.

Drumheller/Badlands Tour

Wednesday, June 23 • 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $90 USD, $100 CND
Minimum: 20 people

This tour will take you to the world famous town of Drumheller, the Dinosaur Capital of the World, where you can visit the Royal Tyrell Museum of Paleontology, see the world’s largest dinosaur, and take in the sights along the Dinosaur Trail. In Drumheller rolling fields give way to steep, dry coulees ridged with the strata of hundreds of years of erosion by time, wind and water. Through it all, the tranquil Red Deer River makes its way through parkland and myriad of recreational opportunities. Tour includes lunch in Drumheller.

Big Rock Brewery Tour

Thursday, June 24 • 2:00– 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $40 USD, $45 CND
Minimum: 20 people

Tour the Big Rock Brewery and see what happens behind the scenes. Enjoy a tasting session to get to know each of the brewery’s beers, and then take a six-pack of your favorite beers home with you.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age to take part in the beer tasting.

Boundary Ranch Horseback Riding

Friday, June 25 • 11:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Cost: $108 USD, $120 CND

Enjoy a day horseback riding in the mountains! Take a trail ride that will give you the chance to take in the natural beauty of the Kananaskis Valley. Pristine views, flowered alpine meadows, and abundant wildlife are just a few of the scenic wonders you’ll experience. Safe, and a photographer’s delight, horseback guided tours are sure to be a highlight of your visit.
